Effectivly Using Keywords to Make Money Online

So you want to make some extra money online, right. You've started a blog on blogger and perhaps are posting articles somewhere, maybe you even have a website on your own domain - You've set up adsense and perhaps a few other affiliate programs, wrote ten or twenty posts and sat back ready to retire right?
Watching the pennies roll in gets old after all that hard work, I should know, I've been doing it myself. If you are like me then one of the problems is that I'm great at working hard for a little while, but its often hard to work smart, and even harder to keep working when the rewards seem so tiny.
Properly working with keywords is essential to promoting your blogs, articles and websites. Good use of keywords is essential to making money online. Here are some of the things I have learned in my keyword research.
Use Keywords in Article Titles and Page Titles
That should be self explanitory, create your titles so that they both attract your audiences attention and they also contain your main keywords.
Use Keywords in Image Alt Tags
When you include and image in your article you have the opportunity of including keywords in two places. The first is the file name, the second is the alt tag. The alt tag is the description of the image that is displayed when the image is rolled over or not able to be displayed.
Use Keywords in Links
Generic links like "click here" are great for user instruction, but are not the best ways to drive traffic with search engines. You links should contain your keywords and let your user know what the llink connects to.
Use Keywords at Specific Locations in Your Articles
Your articles should contain your keywords in at least the first sentence and the last, you may also want to include them once or twice in the body of the article depending on the article length. Keyword density is the ratio of how often the keyword appears in the text in relation to the amount of text in the article. If you keyword density is too high, search engines will treat your article as content spam; if it is too low, your article will not be identified properly.
Key phrases are great keywords
Think about how you use search engines. When you search for something on the internet, which do you do more often use a few loosely connected words, or use a well crafted phrase? What gives you the better results? Key phrases, also known as long chain keywords, often give you more specificity and better results. If your potential customers are likely to use certain phrases to search for you, use those phrases as your keywords.
I hope you have found these tips useful and that these keyword tips should help you increase your rankings and your success in making money online.
I spend too much time on the computer, but luckily it is rewarding.
